Ashwin Nayak

Ashwin Nayak received his BTech at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (1995) and his PhD at University of California, Berkeley (1999), both in Computer Science. After holding post-doctoral positions jointly at DIMACS Center and AT&T Labs, and subsequently at Caltech, he joined the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2002, where he is currently a Professor in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization and the Institute for Quantum Computing. His research primarily revolves around quantum information and computation, with an emphasis on algorithms, complexity, and communication. Nayak continues to work more broadly on related topics in theoretical computer science.
